How to grow Pea 'Oskar'

  • Full Sun

  • High

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water often. Keep in mind when planting that Oskar is thought of as half hardy, so it will require protection in frosts and low temperatures. Planting Oskar in loamy soil with a ph of between 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal for as it does best in weakly acidic soil.

Growing Oskar from seed

Sow at a depth of approx. 0.99 inches (2.54 cm) and aim for a distance of at least 2.97 inches (7.62 cm) between Pea plants. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 4°C / 39°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Oskar about 35 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Oskar

As Oskar is half hardy, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
