Catalogna galatina needs a chalky, sandy and clay soil with a ph of 5.6 to 7.5 (weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil).

Plant after frost when soil is beginning to warm (55-75) degrees at 1/8 inches deep and cover loosely. Can be grown as a fall crop.
