How to grow Garden Cosmos 'Diablo'

  • Full Sun

  • Medium

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Diablo is thought of as tender, so it is really important to ensure that the outside temperature is well above freezing before planting or moving outdoors. Diablo requires a soil ph of 6.6 - 7.8 meaning it does best in weakly acidic soil - weakly alkaline soil.

Growing Diablo from seed

Look to ensure a distance 0.98 inches (2.5 cm) between seeds when sowing - bury at a depth of at least 0.25 inches (0.64 cm) deep. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 20°C / 68°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Diablo about 28 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Diablo

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Diablo is a tender plant.
