How to grow Lavender 'Compacta'

  • Full Sun

  • Medium

Plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Compacta is thought of as hardy, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures. Planting Compacta in sandy, loamy and silty soil with a ph of between 6.0 and 7.0 is ideal for as it does best in weakly acidic soil to neutral soil.

Growing Compacta from seed

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 1.95 inches (5.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.23 inches (0.6 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 15°C / 59°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Compacta about 1 days after your last frost date.

Transplanting Compacta

As Compacta is hardy, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
