Salvia officinalis

How to grow Sage 'Albiflora'

  • Full Sun

  • Medium

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Albiflora is thought of as hardy, so it can be safe to leave outdoors for the majority of winter (although if in doubt, using a row cover is often a good idea). Planting Albiflora in loamy and sandy soil with a ph of between 4.9 and 8.2 is ideal for as it does best in moderately acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil.

Growing Albiflora from seed

Aim to sow 0.23 inches (0.6 cm) deep and try to ensure a gap of at least 0.98 inches (2.5 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 15°C / 59°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Albiflora about 84 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Albiflora

As Albiflora is hardy, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
