How to grow Sweet corn 'Balinese'

  • Full Sun

  • High

A full sun position will ensure your plant thrives and remember to water often. Balinese is generally regarded as a tender plant, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside. Balinese needs a loamy and clay soil with a ph of 6.5 to 7.5 (weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil).

Growing Balinese from seed

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 7.8 inches (20.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 1.17 inches (3.0 cm). For optimal germination, soil temperature should be a minimum of 21°C / 70°F.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Balinese about 14 days after your last frost date.

Transplanting Balinese

Balinese is tender, so ensure you wait until all danger of frost has passed in your area before considering planting outside.
