How to grow Sweet corn 'Sundance'

  • Full Sun

  • High

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water often. Keep in mind when planting that Sundance is thought of as tender, so it is really important to plant out well after your last frost date. Ideally plant in loamy and clay soil and try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 6.5 and 7.5 as Sundance likes to be in weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil.

Growing Sundance from seed

Sow at a depth of approx. 1.95 inches (5.0 cm) and aim for a distance of at least 11.7 inches (30.0 cm) between Sweet corn plants. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 18°C / 64°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Sundance about 10 days after your last frost date.

Transplanting Sundance

Best grown in blocks or staggered rows to allow for easier pollination.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Sundance is a tender plant.

Harvesting Sundance

This variety tends to be ready for harvesting by late summer.
