Growing Korean Hornbeam from seed

No need to stratify or scarify Carpinus turczaninowii or Carpinus Coreana. Sow seed in spring in 3" pots in100% perlite,keep moist, it is imposible to overwater and germination takes about two to three weeks. No fertilizer is necessary for about a month after germination and then a very weak solution, quarter strength. 20-20-20. Then do not fertilize for another month at same strength.

Soil temperature should be kept higher than 10°C / 50°F to ensure good germination.
