Add aluminum sulfate to the soil to change the color to blue. Add lime to make the color of the flowers pinker. Plants benefit from mulching year round with 3" of shredded bark, peat or compost.1

Plant in a location that enjoys partial sun and remember to water often. Keep in mind when planting that Tokyo Delight is thought of as hardy, so it can be safe to leave outdoors for the majority of winter (although if in doubt, using a row cover is often a good idea).
