How to grow Garden nasturtium 'St Clements'

  • Partial Sun

  • Medium

Try to plant in a location that enjoys partial sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that St Clements is thought of as hardy, so it can be safe to leave outdoors for the majority of winter (although if in doubt, using a row cover is often a good idea). Ideally plant in loamy, sandy and clay soil and try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 6.1 and 7.8 as St Clements likes to be in weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil.

Growing St Clements from seed

Aim to sow 0.5 inches (1.27 cm) deep and try to ensure a gap of at least 1.95 inches (5.0 cm).

By our calculations, you should look at sowing St Clements about 14 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting St Clements

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as St Clements is a hardy plant.
