How to grow Runner bean 'Lady Di'

  • Full Sun

  • Medium

Lady Di likes a position of full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Lady Di is thought of as tender, so it is really important to plant out well after your last frost date. Planting Lady Di in loamy and clay soil with a ph of between 6.0 and 6.8 is ideal for as it does best in weakly acidic soil.

Growing Lady Di from seed

Sow at a depth of approx. 1.95 inches (5.0 cm) and aim for a distance of at least 3.9 inches (10.0 cm) between Runner bean plants. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 16°C / 61°F to ensure good germination.

Transplanting Lady Di

As Lady Di is tender, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.
