How to grow Cape primrose 'Royal Mix'

Use small pots to promote flowering in a peaty mix with added vermiculite for drainage.
On the last pot up to a 12cm pot also add a little soil or loam based compost in the mix
always water from below and do not allow to sit in water.

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Royal Mix is thought of as tender, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside.

Growing Royal Mix from seed

Place seed on damp compost. Cover only lightly and place in a plastic bag to improve the humidity.

Soil temperature should be kept higher than 20°C / 68°F to ensure good germination.

Transplanting Royal Mix

Pot up when the seedlings are large enough to handle. Separate the tiny plants with the aid of the point of a blade if they germinate in an overcrowded way
Bright conditions but avoid direct full sun

Ensure that temperatures are mild (minimum night temperatures should be around 13°C / 55°F) and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Royal Mix is a tender plant.
