Keep in mind when planting that Lime is thought of as hardy, so Lime will tend to go dormant or grow slowly over the winter months. Lime needs a chalky and sandy soil with a ph of 6.6 to 8.5 (weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil).

Growing Lime from seed

Look to ensure a distance 9.75 inches (25.0 cm) between seeds when sowing - bury at a depth of at least 0.2 inches (0.5 cm) deep. Soil temperature should be kept higher than 21°C / 70°F to ensure good germination.

Transplanting Lime

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Lime is a hardy plant.

Harvesting Lime

This variety tends to be ready for harvesting by mid summer.
