Doone Valley likes a position of full sun and remember to apply water fairly sparingly. Doone Valley is generally regarded as a hardy plant, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures. Doone Valley needs a chalky and sandy soil with a ph of 6.0 to 7.0 (weakly acidic soil to neutral soil).

Sow 0.2 inches (0.5 cm) deep with a guideline distance of 11.7 inches (30.0 cm). For optimal germination, soil temperature should be a minimum of 21°C / 70°F.
