Keep in mind when planting that Golden King is thought of as hardy, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures. Planting Golden King in chalky and sandy soil with a ph of between 6.6 and 8.5 is ideal for as it does best in weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil.

Growing Golden King from seed

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 9.75 inches (25.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.2 inches (0.5 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 21°C / 70°F to ensure good germination.
