Hand pollinate for fruit set: male and female flowers form on the same tree, but not at the same time, and male pollen is highly perishable unless refrigerated.
Seed germination time can vary from 2.5 weeks to a few months. Bottom heat will greatly speed up germination.
Soak seeds in room temperature water for 24-48 hours; discard those that float. The percentage of germination in soaked seeds is lower than in unsoaked seeds, but those that do germinate will do so much more quickly. Seeds should be planted about an inch deep.
Seeds can be stored for several months.
Transplant into individual pots when 3-5 inches tall. Seedlings will develop a taproot, and should not be in a too-large container, but will need some room for root growth. Generally a sun-loving plant when mature, but young cherimoyas will be fairly vigorous in filtered light as well.
Ensure that temperatures are mild (minimum night temperatures should be around -2°C / 28°F) and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Cherimoya is a half hardy plant.Cherimoya can be picked when it turns a light green color and feels soft to the touch.
These estimates for how long Cherimoya takes to sprout, grow and harvest are from real observations from real gardeners, right around the world.
