Zaatar Oregano likes it on the dry side. Its roots do not like to be wet.
My Zaatar oregano germinated within 8 days. I germinated it in moist good soil (Ace Hardware potting soil). It is growing fairly fast. After germinating keep it on the dry side and needs lots of sun.
Transplant in a sunny location. Dig a hole about twice the size of the planter and mix garden soil with potting soil. Position the zaatar oregano at the same level it was growing in the pot. Water.
Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Zaatar is a half hardy plant.Zaatar Oregano can be harvested as soon as the branches are at least 3 inches. Flowers can also be used in cooking.
These estimates for how long Zaatar takes to sprout, grow and harvest are from real observations from real gardeners, right around the world.
