How to grow Red Frangipani

Plumeria rubra

Watering is an art. Too much and it rots, too little and the spider mite moves in. It becomes dormant as the daylight falls below 12 hours each day and gradually looses leaves, so reduce watering. In the spring, move it around the house to take advantage of the sun’s warmth in each window. At night protect from the cold by moving it away from the glass. As it breaks dormancy, increase watering or repot or refresh the potting mixture by removing a proportion of the old compost. Feed as the plants growth starts up. Flowering can take place in about 4 -5 years from seed. Feed young plants with a general-purpose fertilizer such as Miracle-Gro, to promote healthy root development3. Once established, leaves can be sprayed with Spray N Grow to promote flowering3.
