Transplanting Clementine

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Clementine is a half hardy plant.

Harvesting Clementine

Pick the fruit off the tree when the skin is orange all around with no green. The skin should be glossy and the fruit should feel heavy for it’s size. It should smell strongly of citrus when handled. Because it peels so easy, you should clip the stem rather than pull off the fruit. Clementines will not ripen after picking, so make sure that you pick them with no green near the stem. Fruits larger than 2-3 inches in diameter will likely have an insipid flavor.

This variety tends to be ready for harvesting by early winter.
