How to grow Pothos

Scindapsus

Pothos does not like direct sun nor complete shade. Bright indirect light is best. Can be grown trailing or upright against a moss pole. Allow to dry between waterings.
Propagated easily from stem cuttings with two good leaves. Insert the stem into a sand and compost mix and keep moist but not too wet. Enclose the pot and stem in a plastic bag while the roots form.
Train growing vines up a frame tying in the main stem. Snip off side shoots when they get too long, to keep the plant contained. These side shoots can then be used as stem cuttings to make new plants
Mature plants may flower and it has a coloured spathe characteristic of the arum family

Growing Pothos from seed

New plants are produced most easily from stem cuttings

Soil temperature should be kept higher than 10°C / 50°F to ensure good germination.

Transplanting Pothos

Repot into loam based compost, but increase pot size slowly 2.5 to 5cm larger only with each repot
Pothos is happy with indirect light.

Ensure that temperatures are mild (minimum night temperatures should be around 15°C / 59°F) and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Pothos is a tender plant.
