How to grow Johnny jumpup 'Tricolor'

These prefer partial shade but can be grown from full sun to full shade range. They are great along borders, walkways or in containers. Very attrative blooms that resemble butterflies and are lavender, violet and yellow. They grow to 6 to 10 inches in height with average at 6 inches.
They can be grown in zones 2b to 9b.
In hotter climates they’ll prefer more shade.

Try to plant in a location that enjoys partial sun and remember to water moderately. Growing Tricolor from seed

Sow on open ground in the fall or after last frost and cover with 1/8 inch of soil. For early blooming sow indoors 10 weeks before last frost. Plant or thin to 6 inch spacing. They are also very pretty when left in mass. Will self seed year after year once established.

Aim for a seed spacing of approx. 5.94 inches (15.24 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 10°C / 50°F to ensure good germination.
