How to grow Sweet pepper 'Total'

  • Full Sun

  • Medium

A full sun position will ensure your plant thrives and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Total is thought of as tender, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside. Ensure your soil is potting mix, loamy and silty and has a ph of between 5.5 and 7.5 as Sweet pepper is a weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil loving plant.

Growing Total from seed

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 0.98 inches (2.5 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.25 inches (0.64 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 20°C / 68°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Total about 60 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Total

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Total is a tender plant.
