Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Early red is thought of as tender, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside. Early red requires a potting mix, loamy and silty soil with a ph of 5.5 - 7.5 - it grows best in weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil.

Growing Early red from seed

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 0.98 inches (2.5 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.25 inches (0.64 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 20°C / 68°F to ensure good germination.
