Allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering. Bulbs can easily be propargated by lifting the clump after four or five years and sorting the healthy bulbs from spent old ones. This is best done in the dormant phase in the late summer. Replant at the correct depth to colonize new areas with the propargated bulbs

Plant in a location that enjoys partial sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Rip van Winkle is thought of as hardy, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures.

Not normally grown from seed. Established clumps can be divided in the dormant summer period

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 3.9 inches (10.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 3.9 inches (10.0 cm).
