Forsythia 'Spectabilis'

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to apply water fairly sparingly. Keep in mind when planting that Spectabilis is thought of as very hardy, so this plant will tend to survive through freezing conditions. Ideally plant in chalky, loamy and sandy soil and try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 5.5 and 6.5 as Spectabilis likes to be in weakly acidic soil.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Spectabilis is a very hardy plant.

This variety tends to be ready for harvesting by early spring.
