Plant in a location that enjoys partial sun and remember to water moderately. Maori is generally regarded as a tender plant, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside. Maori needs a loamy and clay soil with a ph of 5.0 to 6.0 (moderately acidic soil to weakly acidic soil).

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 11.7 inches (30.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 5.85 inches (15.0 cm).
