After flowering remove seed heads to prevent the plant from wasting energy on making seeds
Watch our for lily beetle
Lilies are not normally grown from seed as they take many years for the bulb to become large enough to flower. Planting lily seeds would be useful when investigating new colours as the seeds may not always come true to the parent plant.
Lilies can be grown from bulb of setts from the main flowering bulb, or by growing on leaf scales from the bulb, that are attached to a small amount of basal plate tissue
Choose a sunny spot and plant the bulb at least twice its depth. As the shoot grows it may need support
Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Red Hot is a hardy plant.
