How to grow Radish 'Rabano'

  • Full Sun

  • Medium

Plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Rabano is thought of as half hardy, so remember to protect this plant from frosts and low temperatures. Ideally plant in loamy, clay and sandy soil and try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 5.5 and 6.8 as Rabano likes to be in weakly acidic soil.

Growing Rabano from seed

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 0.99 inches (2.54 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.47 inches (1.2 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 13°C / 55°F to ensure good germination.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Rabano about 28 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Rabano

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Rabano is a half hardy plant.
