In zone 9 cold wintry winds can damage the foliage. Never allow Ixora to get root bound and pot larger plants firmly in coarse turfy material. Ixora can be cut back severely or shaped whenever necessary.¹

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Dwarf ixora is thought of as half hardy, so protect with a row cover whenever the temperatures drop.
