How to grow Coral bells 'Caramel'

  • Partial Sun

  • Low

Do NOT plant close together… they seem to require space to thrive.

Try to plant in a location that enjoys partial sun and remember to apply water fairly sparingly. Keep in mind when planting that Caramel is thought of as very hardy, so this plant will survive though longer winters with little or no damage.

Growing Caramel from seed

Try to ensure a gap of at least 4.68 inches (12.0 cm) when sowing to prevent overcrowding your seedlings.

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Caramel about 63 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Caramel

Plant high on a mound, for good drainage. If you are planting in clay, use very old compost and mushroom mulch to backfill plant. The Heuchera’s struggle in clay. I suggest planting in sloping beds, as then they dont suffer rot problems.
During Summer, if planted in the sun they tend to burn a little, however, they will recover in Autumn. Flower from late Summer to Mid Autumn (Equivalent of USDA zone 9) Frost hardy.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Caramel is a very hardy plant.
