Growing Fringed Gentian from seed

The seeds need a three month period of cold moist stratification to germinate.

Begin by sowing seeds on the surface of moist soil at a temperature of 21°C (70°F) for one month. For the next month, keep the temperature at or below freezing temperatures. For the third month, bring the temperature back up to 10°C (50°F).

Sow 0.0 inches (0.0 cm) deep with a guideline distance of 7.8 inches (20.0 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than -1°C / 30°F to ensure good germination.
