Make sure the plants have excellent drainage as cyclamen likes moist but not wet soil. On the other hand, cyclamen needs potting soil that holds water well. When the soil feels dry to the touch it is time to water cyclamen again. Make sure not to let cyclamen’s soil dry for too long as this can result in plant damage. Try watering the plant from the bottom by placing container in water or using a watering can making sure the water does not splash on to the foliage or stem. Soak the soil and let any excess water drain away. A water soluble fertilizer should be used every two months mixed at half strength. Make sure to not over fertilize cyclamen as this may results in less blooming.
After blooming allow the leaves to die (the plant goes into dormancy), and place the plant in a cool and dark place where you would let it sit for two months. Bring it out of storage and water the plant again by completely soaking the soil. If the tuber has outgrown the pot this is the time to transplant cyclamen into a bigger container.1
These estimates for how long Cyclamen takes to sprout, grow and harvest are from real observations from real gardeners, right around the world.
