Bean 'Roc d'Or'

Like fertile, well drained soil

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Roc d'Or is generally regarded as a tender plant, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside. Roc d'Or needs a soil ph of 6.2 to 7.0 (weakly acidic soil - neutral soil).

Beans are frost tender; germinate best at 18 – 25oC; seed will rot in cold, wet soil.

Sow in a Temperate climate: Spring to early Summer

Sow in a Subtropical climate: All year if frost-free; avoid Dec-Jan (Southern Hemisphere)

Sow in a Tropical climate: April – July (Southern Hemisphere)

Sow 1.95 inches (5.0 cm) deep with a guideline distance of 3.9 inches (10.0 cm).

Water well once after sowing seed and then do not water again until seedlings appear.

Roc d'Or is tender, so ensure you wait until all danger of frost has passed in your area before considering planting outside.

55 – 60 days to Harvest then pick daily

This variety tends to mature and be ready for harvest in early summer.
