African Violet 'Louisiana'

Saintpaulia

How to grow African Violet 'Louisiana'

  • Indoor

  • Medium

Should be potted in African violet mix or a mix of part peat and part pearlie or vermiculite.

Prefers an eastern window.

Keep in mind when planting that Louisiana is thought of as tender, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside. Ensure your soil is potting mix, sandy and loamy and has a ph of between 6.1 and 6.5 as African Violet is a weakly acidic soil loving plant.

Growing Louisiana from seed

Soil temperature should be kept higher than 22°C / 72°F to ensure good germination.

Transplanting Louisiana

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Louisiana is a tender plant.
