Hoary stock is part of the Matthiola genus and its scientific name is Matthiola incana.

Tall flower spikes of shades of mauve, pink or cream. Leaves simple and sightly hairy. The flowers have a strong sweet scent.

This variety has a floral fragrance and typically grows to 2.5 cm (0.97 inches imperial) in diameter, blooming in the following colours:   Cerise pink and   Purple mountain majesty and   Cream. The mature flowers take a single form, with an approximate petal count of 4. The leaves of this particular variety normally show as   Medium sea green and   Forest green (web)
