Susceptible to chlorosis in alkaline soils; can be particularly susceptible to fireblight during warm, wet springs. Tolerant of urban pollution and inner city environments.

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Parker is thought of as hardy, so Parker will tend to go dormant or grow slowly over the winter months.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Parker is a hardy plant.

Harvesting Parker

Bears in mid-August. Fruit should be picked before it ripens. Fruit is similar in size, flavor and texture to ‘Bartlett’.

This variety tends to be ready for harvesting by late summer.
