How to grow Easter Cactus

Hatiora gaertneri

Needs regular watering, and intolerant of poor drainage and aeration. Use a good mixture of sand and vermiculite in the soil to help aid good drainage and aeration.

Will tolerate a frost, although damage will occur. Keep well above frost levels to avoid this.

The buds will not open and drop if the plant is kept too dry, waterlogged, or if left in shade.

After flowering this cactus needs about a month resting period. During this month restrict water to keep the soil moist only and do not fertilize. After this period resume watering and fertilizing as usual.1
