Mouse Plant is part of the Arisarum genus. Its scientific name is Arisarum proboscideum.

This is a small woodland plant that is grown for its fresh green leaves and unusual flowers. It starts into growth early in the spring and has arrow shaped bright green slightly glossy leaves. The flowers are brown and cylindrical can be easily missed as they are held below the leaves with only the ‘tail’ visible above the leaves. The spathe is tubular at the base then opens into a forward pointing hood enclosing a slender spadix

Blooms appear in these approximate colours:   Pale brown and   Cream and   Otter brown. When mature, blooms are roughly 1.0 cm (that's 0.39 inches in imperial) in diameter. The mature flowers take a funnel form, with an approximate petal count of 1. Leaves appear approximately as a   Dark spring green and   Deep jungle green

It is a flower / ornamental that typically grows as a perennial, which is defined as a plant that matures and completes its lifecycle over the course of three years or more.

Mouse Plant is known for growing to a height of approximately 5.85 inches (that's 15.0 cm in metric) with a ground covering habit. This plant tends to bloom in early spring.

Mouse Plant is known to be toxic to humans and/or animals, so be careful where you position and how you handle this plant.

Mouse Plant is normally quite a low maintenance plant and is normally very easy to grow - great for beginner gardeners!
