Runner bean 'Galaxy'

Galaxy likes a position of full sun and remember to water moderately. Galaxy is generally regarded as a tender plant, so remember to ensure that temperatures are mild before moving outdoors. Galaxy needs a loamy and clay soil with a ph of 6.0 to 6.8 (weakly acidic soil).

Sow direct in a bright sunny spot or start in pots under protection, if there is still a chance of frost

Aim to sow 1.95 inches (5.0 cm) deep and try to ensure a gap of at least 3.9 inches (10.0 cm). For optimal germination, soil temperature should be a minimum of 16°C / 61°F.

Galaxy is tender, so ensure you wait until all danger of frost has passed in your area before considering planting outside.

Pick the bean pods when they are still small and tender. Removing the pods encourages more flowers and extends the cropping season

This variety tends to mature and be ready for harvest in late summer.
