Enjoys a partial sun position in your garden and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Gold Medal is thought of as hardy, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures. Gold Medal requires a loamy soil with a ph of 4.5 - 8.0 - it grows best in moderately acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil.

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 3.96 feet (1.22 metres) and sow at a depth of around 0.25 inches (0.64 cm).

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Gold Medal about 35 days before your last frost date.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Gold Medal is a hardy plant.
