How to grow Rose 'Bonica'

  • Partial Sun

  • Medium

Regularly water deeply preferably in the morning. Summer mulch helps to retain moisture, keeps the roots cool and discourages weeds. In cold winter areas the crown needs protection. Remove dead leaves from the ground around the plant. Prune as needed in late winter or early spring.1

Try to plant in a location that enjoys partial sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Bonica is thought of as hardy, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures. Bonica needs a loamy soil with a ph of 4.5 to 8.0 (moderately acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil).

Growing Bonica from seed

Hybrid. Will not reliably grow true to type from seed.

Transplanting Bonica

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Bonica is a hardy plant.
