How to grow Rose 'Chianti'

  • Full Sun

  • Medium

This is a large well shaped shrub. Prune after flowering. Can tolerate a not so sunny position

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Chianti is thought of as hardy, so Chianti will tend to go dormant or grow slowly over the winter months.

Growing Chianti from seed

Roses are not normally grown from seed but can easily be propagated from hard wood cuttings in late autumn.

Transplanting Chianti

Plant out bare rooted plants in the dormant season. Container grown roses can be planted at any time of year if watering is carefully attended to when it is in leaf.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Chianti is a hardy plant.
