How to grow Rose 'Gloire de France'

Growth is lax, and can be contained by attaching to bent hazel stakes or bent bamboo. Prune lightly directly after flowering in late summer, feed with blood fish and bone as the plant comes into leaf in the early spring and again at the late summer prune

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Gloire de France is thought of as hardy, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures.

Growing Gloire de France from seed

Not normally grown from seed but can be rooted from hard wood cuttings taken in the late autumn

Transplanting Gloire de France

Choose a sunny spot and dig a hole deep enough and wide enough to take the roots without squashing them. Add blood fish and bone and backfill, water and firm in. The graft is 2cm below the surface.

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Gloire de France is a hardy plant.
