How to grow Rose 'Penelope'

  • Partial Sun

  • Medium

Twice-weekly watering of approx 2 litres eachtime.

Spring & late summer feeding of manure plus late summer dose of organic blood and bone.

Try to plant in a location that enjoys partial sun and remember to water moderately. Penelope is generally regarded as a hardy plant, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures. Penelope needs a loamy soil with a ph of 5.5 to 8.0 (weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil).

Growing Penelope from seed

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 3.96 feet (1.22 metres) and sow at a depth of around 0.25 inches (0.64 cm).

By our calculations, you should look at sowing Penelope about 35 days before your last frost date.

Transplanting Penelope

Penelope is hardy, so ensure you wait until all danger of frost has passed in your area before considering planting outside.
