Broccoli 'Star 2204'

Broccoli requires large amounts of water. Both dry soil and waterlogged soil reduces yields.

Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Star 2204 is thought of as tender, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside.

Plant in spring, summer and autumn (in frost-prone areas), or all year-round in frost-free areas

Try to aim for a seed spacing of at least 1.46 feet (45.0 cm) and sow at a depth of around 0.39 inches (1.0 cm).

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Star 2204 is a tender plant.

Harvest is ~80-90 days from transplant to maturity in summer, 90-110 days in winter ¹. Average head mass can vary from 350 – 450g in summer and 500 – 600g in winter. Spear length can vary from medium/short to medium ¹. Harvest timeously, as soon as the heads are well-sized, but before there are any signs of loosening ¹.
