Require plenty of water in growing season. Full sun to pt shade. May like lots of organic material and may tolerate standing water in summer but not in winter, when the rhizomes may rot.
Try to plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water often. A soil ph of between 5.0 and 6.0 is ideal for Freckled Geisha as it does best in moderately acidic soil - weakly acidic soil.
