How to grow Smooth hydrangea 'Annabelle'

Prune in early spring to 6 inches above ground for best results. Can be planted as a hedge, and will flower even after severe pruning. Likes shade in the hottest part of the day and prefers a consistently moist soil, with regular, deep watering (at least a bucketful) every week.

Annabelle likes a position of full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Annabelle is thought of as very hardy, so this plant will survive though longer winters with little or no damage.

From the tag: “Dig a hole 2 times as wide but no deeper than rootball. Place rootball in hole slightly above ground level. Backfill with planting mix and native soil (eliminating air pockets). Water thoroughly. Add a 5 to 8 cm. layer of mulch.”

Ensure that temperatures are mild and all chance of frost has passed before planting out, as Annabelle is a very hardy plant.
