How to grow Lemon thyme 'Aureus'

Plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to apply water fairly sparingly. Keep in mind when planting that Aureus is thought of as hardy, so this plant will survive close to or on freezing temperatures. Planting Aureus in chalky and sandy soil with a ph of between 6.6 and 8.5 is ideal for as it does best in weakly acidic soil to weakly alkaline soil.

Growing Aureus from seed

Sow 0.2 inches (0.5 cm) deep with a guideline distance of 9.75 inches (25.0 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 21°C / 70°F to ensure good germination.

Transplanting Aureus

As Aureus is hardy, ensure temperatures are mild enough to plant out - wait until after your last frost date to be on the safe side.

Harvesting Aureus

This variety tends to be ready for harvesting by mid summer.
