Description: Masses of sweet and tangy, large ‘cherry’ fruits. Indeterminate (needs support), outdoors or greenhouse. Excellent source of Vitamin C and antioxidants
Gardener’s Delight is NOT an F1 hybrid so there were plenty of seeds in the packet which was good. This is one of our favourite tomato varieties and is delicious eaten fresh and sun-warmed straight from the vine. It’s also brilliant for filling halved sweet peppers (capsicums) together with olive oil, crushed garlic and anchovies then baked in the oven until soft and blackened around the edges.
I’m growing them for our elderly uncle who will tend them in his greenhouse this summer (health and mental capacity permitting). But he has Parkinsons which means that his hands shake too much to be able to handle the small seeds. So I’m doing the fiddly propagating and potting on stuff for him :)
