This Coffea arabica plant was given to me by one of my first friends in college during my freshman year. That friend has an incredible coffee plant of her own back at home on Long Island and it towers over mine. Being my first coffee plant, growing this one has been quite an endeavor. Our family’s cat will eat almost any plant that I bring into the house and this coffee plant has fallen victim many times. It’s been tough trying to get this plant to grow this far north, especially in the winter. It does really well during the humid summer, but any bit of cold or dry air will cause my coffee plant to shrivel up.
This planting is in the Backyard garden [archived].
